LEADERSHIPX 1.1 – BUILDING EFFECTIVE TEAMS

We launched our LeadershipX Executive Breakfast on 13th February, 2025. The goal of LeadershipX is to equip business leaders with actionable strategies to foster leadership mindsets within their teams, ultimately driving innovation and productivity.

Gracing the occasion was Mr. Richard Debrah, a distinguished leader in the field of human resources, whose insights ignited meaningful discussions on the topic, “Empowering Your Team to Be Leadership-Minded: Unlocking Innovation and Productivity.

The speaker spoke from his decades of experience in leading teams. He emphasized on key attributes leaders possess or must seek to possess in driving their teams to success. Some of the attributes included;

Determination: A leader must be passionate about his team and must always have the goal in mind. No matter how tough things get, the leader must never forget the goal.

Consistency: Success does not come in a day. Success comes from doing the same right things over and over again. Leaders must always keep going and maintain or get better at whatever they do.

Empathy: Leaders who are only interested in getting the work done may get things done but will lose their team eventually. Leaders must seek the welfare of their team members. Effective leaders take keen interest in knowing how their team members are faring outside the work environment.

Self-control: Leaders need to be masters of themselves to avoid temptations from all angles including money, lifestyle, work and relationships.

Hard work: It is important to both work hard and work smart. Leaders don’t just get to the top – they work to get there. You must be ready to go the extra mile if you want to achieve excellence.

Adaptation: Don’t use your temperament as an excuse. No matter who you are, you can adjust through learning to be a better leader.
