Project management is a dynamic and rewarding field, offering opportunities for growth and development. As the year comes to an end, we reflect on how we are making impact in the lives of our alumni who have got certified in 2025. This year, we have had not less than 50 of our students upgrading their CVs and getting to add the prestigious PMP title to their names.
With this certification, and if you are also considering building a career in Project Management, what are some essential things to do to advance yourself?
- Get Certified
Obviously, this should be your first big step. That is why you still have just about 50 days in 2025 to get certified and advance your career. Obtaining professional credentials can significantly boost your career prospects because it demonstrates your expertise, increases credibility, and is capable of opening new opportunities, promotions, and higher salary potential for you.

2. Build Your Network
Join professional organizations, attend conferences, and connect with other project managers to build relationships and learn from others. Joining online communities such as an alumni page or a Project Management focused page to participate in online forums and other discussions also helps you to connect with other project managers.
3. Enhance Your Skills
Yes, acquiring the PMP certification is not the end of the road as a project manager – it is rather just the beginning. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices by attending training sessions, webinars, and workshops. Take other courses closely related to what you do. There is always space to learn more. Don’t end with a PMP certificate.
4. Put your Knowledge to Work
Seek out opportunities to lead projects, teams, or initiatives. Demonstrating leadership skills and taking on complex projects can help you move into senior roles and increase your career prospects. Some ways to take on leadership roles include leading a Project Team, mentoring others and volunteering for new challenges. Don’t just be a PMP on paper.

5. To be completed by you
We are leaving the last slot for our experts. In what way can one advance him/herself in Project Management?
Let’s hear from you.
